Overview

Three friends have just been to a party and are driving home through an eerie forest. They are all drunk, including the driver, suddenly they notice a little child in the middle of the road but they do not have enough time to react. They collide with the child and he flies over the roof of the car, the three friends get out of the to go and check on the child he is lying in a pool of blood and it’s quite clear that he is dead. The three start panicking at the thought of what would happen if anyone ever found out. All three decide to not report the accident and leave the kid in the middle of the road. The child comes back to haunt, torment and basically destroy his killer’s life. The child begins to kill off the people who were in the car as well as the driver’s girlfriend leaving the driver till last.

Outline of opening horror sequence

Beginning – Title sequence begins and the name of the movie is displayed on screen.  A close up of a phone is then showed and the cast names are then displayed on the screen of the phone. We then begin to hear multiple voices talking and panicking about something that the audience hasn’t found out about or witnessed yet. The camera then cuts to a small child lying in the middle of the road in a pool of blood.

Middle – The next day the driver of the car arrives at work, he walks to his office and is suddenly stunned, the camera turns to show what the driver is looking at, the child that he killed is sat under his desk staring back at him. The driver blinks and the child isn’t there anymore. The driver sits down at his computer and turns it on, when it loads up the child’s face begins to flash on the screen. He flicks the switch but the computer doesn’t turn off and instead his face stays on screen, flashing on and off. Two of the three friends then learn that their other friend has recently been hung and the driver phones his other friend to talk about it, halfway through the conversation the driver mentions that he has been seeing the child. His friend thinks that he is going mad and tells him to forget about it when suddenly the phone falls to the floor and hangs up.

End – A tone is then heard on the other end of the phone, the driver then gets a call from his friend that just hung up. He answers the phone and on the other end he hears a child talking on the other end and he says ‘’she’s next’’. The driver runs to his car, drives home and runs up the path to his house. He bursts through the door and see’s his girlfriend lying on the floor. He runs over to her to see if she is alive but she is not. He notices a letter on the floor next to his girlfriend and picks it up, he looks up and the child is standing over him. The screen goes black and the movie ends.

Synopsis

As they are talking the person on the other end of the phone suddenly goes silent and the driver hears the phone fall to the floor and hangs up. His phone then begins to ring and he notices that it’s his friend’s number; he answers the phone and immediately begins to ask what happened. The kid says ‘’she’s next’’, he runs out of work to his car and drives home. He runs through his front door and notices his girlfriend on the floor. He walks over to her to see if she is still alive but she is not. He notices a note next to her, picks it up, opens it and the kid appears in front of him. The screen then goes black and the movie ends.

Production Logo- Roped

To help me create my logo for the production company i did some online research using google to find out which three colours (because wanted a three tone logo) where most commonly associated with horror because, obviously, i wanted my logo to fit in the horror genre.

I decided to use the traditional 'yin yang' image and edit it to try change the meanings of it. By mixing the yin yang with the three horror colours i feel i managed to create the feeling of horror, hate and death.

I used a cloudy background as i thought it helps create a quite misty and suspicious tone, which is relevant for a horror production company. I did this by making a grey and light grey gradient across the logo, then editing the filter to 'sponge' in the artistic filter. I feel that the sponge filter acts as a cloudy background which makes us think of suspense and mystery.

Here is my finished opie picture after a lot of experimentation on photoshop, and it still looks a like a horse...

This was only the first time have have used photoshop so it took my a while (3 to 4 hours and many youtube videos) to figure out how to use the programme. eventually i became familiar with the basic tools like the 'lasso' tool, which i used to get the outlines of my; Hair, face and jumper.

I found it fairly difficult to get an accurate outline of my head and body because i couldn't keep a steady hand in order to keep the line near the the edge. 

Despite my oppie looking like a cartoon horse in a hoodie, i still wanted it to look fairly like myself so i used the 'eye dropper' tool shown below, to take a sample of my hair and skin colour, then used the 'paint bucket' tool to fill the colour in.

I then looked on the colour wheel to see my hair colour and choose a slightly lighter colour to show the different strands of hair and to try show the curliness of it.

I i was to try make an oppie again i would definitely make sure that i had more knowledge of how to use photoshop and also take more time on it to try get more accurate outlines and not have the look of a horse
